Brick by Brick, The Story of Clayburn

Includes chapters on the history of the Maclure family (founders of the brick plant), the brick factory, and family histories of former company employees and other residents of Clayburn. Contributors include authors who previously published on Clayburn's heritage:
-
Janet Bingham, author of Samuel Maclure: Architect;
-
John D. Adams, who wrote his MA thesis about Clayburn in 1976 and is the author of many newspaper and magazine articles on Clayburn's heritage
-
Susanna C. Houwen, who in her 1998 MA thesis proposes a visitors' centre and a heritage trail for the former Clayburn plant site;
-
Helmi Braches, editor of the book, also writes about the people of Clayburn, aided by the wealth of material collected by volunteers such as well-known local historian and enthusiast Cyril Holbrow.
Brick by Brick, The Story of Clayburn includes transcripts of stories told and recorded by the families of former residents. The book features numerous illustrations, including maps, drawings, and reproductions of historical photographs. To assure a wide distribution, the book will appear in a paper back edition. The cost is $25.00 per book and $5.00 for shipping and handling (if required).
For further information about ordering this book contact:
Cyril Holbrow at 604-859-4677
Book is also available for purchase at either the
